Feel Good Friday Spotlight

"That'll do us. We've been waiting for something like this for years!"

— Lions Club of Leeuwin member, Augusta WA

This Feel Good Friday we're shining a spotlight on the Lions Club of Leeuwin Containers for Change — a wonderful community group who operate out of their resurrected recycling shed in Augusta, Western Australia.

The Lions count containers every Thursday and Saturday morning, turning everyday recyclables into genuine community good. What they've achieved through this simple, consistent effort is nothing short of remarkable.

$10,000 Donated to the Tongan Appeal
$1,000 To local fire brigades (twice)
Freedom Tracks funded for a member

Community Impact

The Lions also contributed to the Bridgetown Fire Appeal and funded 'freedom tracks' — enabling one of their own members to independently access the beach and continue doing what they love.

What makes this story so special is its simplicity. By collecting and counting 10-cent containers twice a week, this small group of dedicated volunteers has channelled real dollars into causes that matter deeply — from disaster relief overseas to supporting their own neighbours here at home.

What an awesome group! 👏
